Weekly Vintage Inspiration: Vintage Pop Up Books

I just discovered that the Smithsonian Libraries online have images of vintage pop up and moveable books.  It's amazing that these books were made so long ago.  The oldest pop up book dates back to 1887.  The images below are from pop up books that date back to the 1930's and 1960's.  I love the paper craft it took to make these illustrations.  The animals in them are so fun, like the alien that looks like a cross between a bird, bat and dragon.  Find more of these vintage and daring paper craft and paper art books at the Smithsonian Libraries online.

This vintage pop up book show a chuck wagon in the wild west.  Don't you love the horses in the background?

This vintage pop up book is from 1933 and it is from Pinocchio.
Do you remember this part of the story?
